Providing blood-taking services at GP Surgeries and in patients own homes. Service is available Monday to Friday for adults between 8am – 3.45pm and children between 9am – 3pm.

About This Service

Eligibility criteria

The Phlebotomy Service is only available for housebound patients or those with a medical or learning disability who have difficulty in getting to their surgery or local hospital.

Patients in a nursing home cannot access this service.


Service details

Our staff cover blood-taking clinics on various mornings at several GP surgeries in the Colne Valley and Braintree Localities.

We also provide a domiciliary service for housebound patients. We are trained in anti-coagulation and use Coag-u-check machines for INR patients.

  • Earls Colne
  • Halstead
  • Finchingfield
  • Bardfield
  • Broomfield
  • The Walthams
  • Braintree
  • And surrounding villages

We also provide a domiciliary blood-taking service for housebound patients.

Adults can be seen Monday to Friday from 8am – 3.45pm.

Children can be seen Monday to Friday between 9am – 3pm.

Burnham Clinic

Please note blood-taking appointments can only be booked by appointment Monday to Friday 12 - 4pm (no walk in clinics) and these must be booked on 01787 273117.

Referral process

You must be referred by your GP or hospital.
