Hospital volunteering is a great way of giving something back and you can help to support local people by providing friendship and support during their stay.
It is also a good way of getting direct experience for people who are looking for a career in the health service. St Peter’s Hospital is urgently looking for volunteers who can help with a mobile shop trolley.
Provide’s Volunteer Coordinator Lorraine Pendleton said: “No experience is required as all our volunteers receive appropriate training. We are looking for people who perhaps have a couple of hours a week and enjoy talking to people. “We are also looking for volunteers to act as visitors to our patients, as a friendly chat is usually very welcome”.

Did you know? Our organisation is part of the My Care Record approach which has been supporting the work of health and care organisations during the COVID-19 pandemic, making sure doctors, nurses and co-ordination staff at places you may receive advice or treatment can see important information from your patient record. This makes it easier and faster for them to deliver effective care. For more information, including the Privacy Notice, please visit the My Care Record website. http://www.mycarerecord.org.uk
