Providing and maintaining wheelchairs for people unable to walk or who have a long term disability that affects their walking.

About This Service

Eligibility criteria

Adults or children in need of a wheelchair because of a permanent disability, who are registered with a GP in the Cambridge area.


We are not able to treat anyone with a temporary disability which stops them walking, such as a broken leg.

Service details

If you have a permanent disability which stops you walking, our dedicated team of occupational therapists, physiotherapists and technicians will assess your clinical needs and provide you with the wheelchair and postural-support seating that’s right for you.

We will continue to support you with wheelchair maintenance and periodic reviews to see how you’re getting on.

Please note: We are not able to treat anyone with a temporary disability which stops them walking. If, for example, you have broken your leg we would be unable to loan you a wheelchair. 

Service Delivery

Our service is mobile and covers the whole of the Cambridgeshire area. 

We have a site at Pendrill Court.

Referral process

You must be referred by a healthcare professional, such as your GP.
